192.168.0.1 IP is an IP address used by Netgear and D-Link routers to identify themselves on the network. http://192.168.0.1 could be entered into browser address bar to access router settings page. There you can change router default password, Wi-Fi settings, security settings of your network and many more. To access your router settings page you don’t need an active internet connection. You just need to type an IP address which is used by your router for administration. In case of Netgear and D-Link routers this address is 192.168.0.1 (sometimes misspelled as 192.168.o.1). For other routers this address could be different (for example for Linksys it is 192.168.1.1).

 How to fix 192.168.0.1 problems and change your router password

It is important that you change your router password so no one is able to access and reconfigure your router. Make sure to write down new username and password. Below are the steps require to change your router password:

- First you need to login to the router control panel by typing in router default IP address (for example 192.168.o.1). If you don't know router default IP address please use instructions in "How to find your router IP address" section.

- You should see a username and password prompt. Enter a username and password for the router and click "Login". Router administration interface will load.

- Look for the security or administrative tab in the router administration interface. There you will see a link to "Change password". Click on it and type your password twice there. Make sure your password is strong. To make your password stronger you can use online password generators.
